Stereo cuts out on large waves

I don't know if this is normal or not: Whenever I hit a hard wave, the stereo head resets itself. It is as if it loses power to the head unit. Is this normal, if not any ideas? All the connections are tight.

With the stereo on, start wiggling wires and gently tugging on wires in hopes of duplicating the problem. Pay close attention to black ground wire, the red remote turn-on, and the yellow memory wire as well as the main plug in the back H/U.

If chpthril's suggestion doesn't bring you joy, it could be that your H/U has got a loose connection inside of it.

How about a loose wire on one of the batteries? Is it only the stereo or anything else electric doing weird things?

Are these the same large waves that you showed in your "Powell Glassification" thread?

How old is the HU? Could the HU be old enough that the wires inside the HU are lose?

No, it is only the stereo, but I will double check

Yes, there was a small ripple from a fish jumping

It is an Alpine HU and this is its 3rd season. But it is possible.

Thanks for everybody's input. I hope that I find joy.

Man is that he might have joy. That is why we have Tige's (Unless of course Joy is the name of your wife, then you don't need the tige)
