    tower speaker problems

sooo here we go i guess..
ive got an 07 24ve with the stock 350.4 kicker amp with 2 kicker tower speakers. and i cant for the life of me wire them unbridged!!!! i try and put them on a single channel on the amo and i can only get one of the speakers on the tower to work.. oh and im only trying to rewire the amp to make it so the tower speakers dont pop anymore...
anyone have any ideas why only one side would work? my dad tested the amp with a voltmeter and said everything looked fine to him.. but again we may be missing something

    MT-

Let's start from the very top.

Connect your RCA cables to AMP1 only. You might have one RCA in AMP1 and the other in AMP2 righ now, which would be normal for bridged operation of that amp. With the RCA's split between amp sections, it can prevent a speaker form playing in non-bridged wiring, as you describe.

Connect the speaker wires to AMP1 speaker terminals. left on left and right on right.

That hopefully should get both speakers playing. It is possible to bridge that amp into the two speakers, but lets consider that later.

The popping is likely due to crossover settings. Make sure the slide switch for AMP1 crossover, (ont eh end of the amp) is set to HIGH PASS. Then the knob for AMP1 crossover should be set to 50 Hz or higher; I ofetn use 70 Hz. There is no perfect setting, and it depends on the performance you desire. The only wrong setting is one that is way too high, (150 Hz or higher) or completely off. Way too high makes for tinny thin sound, and totally off results in speakers popping.

Turn the bass boost completely off.

With the stock Clarion radio, that amp likes a gain setting somewhere between 9:00 and 12:00 as on a clock dial. Lower is better, but you need enough to get the volume you want out on the end of the rope.

Check my other post regarding proper gain setting; it will give you a method for optimium gain setting for your towers; you want them dialed in exactly to give you peak performance.

Respond back and let us know if this helps; we can get you going....

Check to see that both RCA cables are connected to AMP1. Let us know the results. Do not connect anything to AMP2

Check to see that both speakers are connected to AMP1. See if both play.

If only one plays, switch the RCAs at the amp. Put the left RCA in to right, and the right RCA into left. Did the sound move from one speaker to another? Let us know the result of that, but if the sound moved, you have either bad RCA or bad radio.

If the sound moved, then flip the RCAs at the radio the same way, ( do NOT flip them again at the amp) put left RCA into right output and vice-versa. Did the sound move again? If so, there is something wrong with the radio. If the sound did not move, you have a bad RCA connection.

Try all of that, exactly as shared, in exactly that order and let us know what happens. Cool?

Hopfully we cna get it figgered out easy... I bet we can.
