    New Stereo thread

    Ok so I redid my stereo after getting robbed. I went a bit crazy w/ the sub box this time and it looks AWESOME! And the amp rack too! I've already had 2 kids want to buy the boat after seeing it.


    I will have some pics tomorrow.

    Tom's to do list.

    Here's what I got.

    Arc 300.4 - 6 interior XS-650 speakers
    Arc KS 300.2 - bridged to one 485 (700W)
    Arc KS 300.2 - bridged to other 485 (700W)
    Arc KS 1000.1 - 15" Kicker L5 (the sub box looks amazing!)

    Hook up speakers to amps (power and grounds already ran) and wires already in place. So I got about 5 mins of work there.

    Change steering cable. (really worried about this one)

    Fix an exhaust leak... just got to re-adjust the hoses.

    Replace bilge pump!

    And only 3 hours to do it all! Hope I can get it all done b4 Fri.

    And b4 I get the worthless thread... pics are coming tom! Been slaving for the last 2 weeks trying to finish the sub box and amp rack.
    Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

    Nice amps. I have a 300.4 on two 485s and its pretty insane.

      Dude, we are going to hear you in CA with that amount of power. I am running the same amps except I don't have the 300.4 and my tower speakers are not Wetsounds. I know mine is "loud" and I am sure yours is going to deafen you

          Ops, why not put another ARC 1000.1 in the boat with the Kicker sub? With my 10 inch sub, the kids want more bass.

              B/C I hate mixing subs of different sizes. It sounds like crap to me, unless you really want to spend a wholeeee lot of time playing w/ the crossovers and get into some pretty expensive processors. There's no room for another 15" unless I wanna lose some storage, so that's not happening. I could use the 10 or even a couple of 8's as dedicated midbasses, but this is a boat in an open environment... and I'd just be being to picky if I did that. But the main reason is I want that 1K Watts to all go to the 15". Trying to keep it from moving to slow! I'm worried that a sub that big will be slow...we'll see. It's tuned to 35 hz though, so it should thump.

              Last year I had 350W to the 485's and they screamed. I'm can't wait to see what they do w/ 700W's!

                All the threads about new systems is getting me all excited. I'm going to add my 2 sets of pro 80's this weekend.
