Ha! Trust me, I'm out there. Only problem is, there aint nothin' out there. It's like a freakin' waste land. I'm such a design oriented person that if I don't have some type of hands on project to work on, I'll lose it. I was getting close when my buddy gave me this thing. It's been a nice little life raft for my brain.
Got the car done Sat. night. All I need is some Nitro. Anyone got any tips for getting a 5 year old motor back into shape. I don't know much about them. Should I just run a tank through it at idle to clean it out a bit or should I just hammer down?
Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

On mine this weekend I took the glow plug out and sprayed some wd 40 in. I worked the engine by hand. Then I put a few drops of fuel in and replaced the glow plug. I did not tighten the glow plug all the way down. I put on starter with out glow plug igniter on and to presurize the fuel tank. Tightened glow plug, put ignoter on and truck fired up after about 5 tries. My starter box is a pos and is on its last lag. Good to here the sound of engne again.
My 2nd truck could not get started as I melted most of the wires in the starter box
Nickypoo was my inspiration staying up until 2 am. I got to Havasu about 11 pm on Friday night. Went in the garage to start pulling down the RC stuff. I realized I had 2 bodies I have not painted. I washed and dried them to get them ready to spray. I had about 5 cans of 10 year old lexan paint. I was going to paint one body red and white and the other blue and yellow.
I had the first body and began to spray red and all that came out were red splots. Not good. I then tested the yellow paint and it kind of exploded in my hands as I was covered in yellow paint. Tested silver, nothing came out at all. White was the same as red. Blue sprayed like it should. You will see my creations in a minute with the Team XP trucks.
I charged all my old baterries. I could only get about 4 minutes run time out of them. Still a blast driving it around.
Ist truck is a modified electric Losi XXT which I semi converted into a xxt-cr. It was very successful in the local sportsman class ( Old men not good enough for modified with too much time on there hands)
Here are pictures with the highly crashed body from 12 years ago and the motor plate we anodized red
Next up is a Nitro xxxt -Adam Drake edition. It has a custom one of a kid paint job also. I like the way this body came out. A lesson is do not leave batteries in glow plug ignotors for 6 years, They tend to corrode ruining the ignitor. off to store for a new one, The new one I bought broke the first time ( really made cheap compared to my old one. So I mcgyvered a new one from the salvagable parts from both. Also 7 year old fuel stored in a garage is no longer good so had to by some new fuel. Once running my old neighbors in Havasu did not appreciate the noise I was making
Next is my original LOsi GXT nitro truck . I raced this truck which was a lot of fun. I could not get this truck started but I think the problems are in my starter box. Will try next time in havasu.
Nice thing is Lake Havasu has a track. Have to time my trips there to coincide with the races. They race every other saturday night. Might have to give it try and embarrass myself
In the summer, they have races every other Sunday at the public track here. Gives me plenty of time practice. Right now it is really beat up but, maybe we can clean it up a bit.
