Reeeeeeeeally. One of the guys who runs with my buddies said he would bring a 7 cell next time out. It ran really good with a half charged 4000mah.

Here's a couple of shots of what I'm working with. First is my lil' ol' 'lectric Rustler. Doesn't much simpler than this thing.

Second is the poor beat up old Nitro Rustler. This thing is rough. I took it apart last night just to get it ready for a good cleaning which is why there is no electronics in it. It is nasty with nitro mud packed into everything. Throttle servo broken, radio might be fried, steering servo might be OK although it had a nice coat of oil and dirt on it, battery switch wire casings totally deteriorated from nitro, body is more or less toast. Don't know much about the motor. It might run. These shots are after I spent 3 hours disassembling and precleaning. Poor thing is hammered.

          Hey K's

What do you recommend for a good douching of this thing? I was thinking carb cleaner.

I use Orion Nitro Speed Clean. Does a pretty good job. At least it did years ago

I hear there's a track in Fallon. We went over to the public track over by the skate park on Mira Loma. Yikes! It's about as maintained as this Nitro Rustler I'm working on. Get what you pay for I guess and so far I've spent $0.00.

Dont use Carb cleaner, it can be harsh on the older plastics... honestly, use electric motor spray or a specific nitro cleaner...

Myself... for off road, I take the motor and electronics out... spray it down with simple green and use a good stiff brush, after you have cleaned... use an air compressor to blow it out, ( getting the water away from the moving parts) another trick is to use a heat gun... then spray it down with WD40 and do a nice wipe down of all the parts... the truck will look great after that!

Just make sure to check the bearings after, you want to get the water away from them asap.

What do you guys want to see for pics?

Got it pretty cleaned up last night (up 'till 2:00). New throttle servo, new stub axel on left rear, new glow plug, found the missing motor mount bolts. Just need the fuel tank, steering servo and radio assembly and a shock job (one is completely empty) and I should have it back together tonight. We'll see if if we can get it going this weekend.

These are no action shots. I was moving stuff around in the garage and found a few of my cars here.

First one is a Losi XX4. A four wheel drive electric buggy. I was finishing building this car on race night, I think I got 1 lap of practice before racing began. A friend of mine who tuned electric motors gave me one of his stock motors to race with. The car handled like a dream, turned easily, took the jumps and the bumps excellent. I won my first heat race and took second in the 2nd heat race. In the A Finals I had about a 1/2 lap lead and then had a failure in the belt gears. Car got put on a shelf and never ran again. I never even fixed the problem. This was at the end of the family racing nights as the kids got active in other sports.

This next car is a Losi XXCR Kinwald Edition. This car has never even been run. I bought this car from a hobby store that was going out of business. He had it on display. I bought this for my daughter to race. She wanted to race a truck. Only thing I did to this was put a steering servo in. Another RC car on the shelf.
