    Economy

The Dow Jones down 800+ in the last two days of trading.
The RV industry is going dow fast. Alpinelite, Snowriver, Okanagan, Bigfoot and others have closed their doors for good in the last two months.
The American big three automakers are in major trouble and need help from the Government.
I am sure the boat industry is next to follow.
Those of you that are interested in buying 09, 08, or even 07's from dealers better be careful from NOW until the ECONOMY gets smoothed out or else you might be in the SAME BOAT "excuse the pun" as the new RV buyers are finding out that their warantees are not worth sh$t now that they have closed their doors.
I am curious what you guys are going to do that have boats but are looking to upgrade and also those few like Talltige that have sold their boats and are looking to buy.

      Da,

I am glad you are keeping your head up during this hard time.
I am curious what Mr Pigion or someone at Tige Headquarters has to say about Tige's financial future in this trying time.
Are they financial secure or are they going to bite the dust in the near future like others in the TOY sector?

They did lay some people off. From my understanding, they had more than one round of layoffs. One massive and the last one was minor. I hope they survive and I am sure they will Charlie is one smart fella.

Stayton Motorsports in Oregon have fifteen Tige's in stock right now. Three 07's, three 09's and nine 08's.
I am sure the other inboard dealers are sitting on large numbers right now as well.
I have not seen Stayton with numbers these large since I started looking at their inventory since 05.

              Joel is back btw.

I was down there the other day inquiring about the RZ4 on the lot. Problem is the market is flooded with repos and such that my trade-in is worthless......so even though I'm interested in a RZ4 and financing isn't an issue there is no way I can upgrade b/c of the loss I'd take on my 24ve. On the upside, Stayton is very diversified.....unfortunately it's with Ford....hehe

Not necessarily. The dealers can only go so low. IMO, they are only making about $2k off the older boats because they also want them gone. To go any lower, Tige must get involved and I don't think that will happen.

                    Sparky,

Easy on the Ford comment dude .
You are right about them being more diversified.
Joel must have got tired of trying to move Centurions.

Let's put the economy problems in perspective on a personal level. I am heavily invested in the stock market. My investments have lost enough money in the last few months to purchase 5 brand new RZ4s. I was planning on using that money to retire, comfortably. Now it appears that I will have to continue working much longer than anticipated.

GWB is an idiot, a moron, a mental midget, misquided by a staff of fools and a corrupt VP. GWB has driven this country into the ground and needs to be eliminated ASAP. Don't wait until January 8, 09. Ticked off? You bet!!

but still da, isn't it better to take a bit of a loss then pay towards Tige since they have lost their grace period?

I don't think it's just GWB fault. There is a lot more involved then just him.

I don't think anyone in this country will purposely take a lose on any item. For example, Mervyn's is going out of business and they are offering 50% discounts. IMO, I think they are breaking even with that percentage. Nothing comes for free hence why this country lives under capitalism. IMO
