Chp it was way more than first time voters creating the landslide win for Obama. I think you need a reality check that the American public is pissed and fed up with what Bush did to us over the last eight years. If nothing else nobody can dispute what a mess he got us in with Iraq. He chose to go to war on crappy inteligence and I am glad he is going off into the sunset as one of the WORST presidents in history.

If Bush was so bad, why did we re-elect him for a 2nd term? What did he "do to us" over the last eight, cause I dont recall issues like the economy really getting bad till the past 2 years, kinda 'bout the time we voted in a Dem controlled Congress, who we know has the real power.

Bush wasn't running for Pres., McCain told Barack that he missed his chance to run against him (Bush) 4 yrs earlier.

I'll will give you the war in Iraq, it has not turned out like we all hoped. It's not like putting together a bicycle, you dont have directions, it's a daily work in progress with constant reactions to changes. To pull out now, with out finishing, would be an insult to the honor of those that sacrificed for their country, they would have died for nothing if we leave the mission unfinished.

Well one good thing about this all.... the dems got control of EVERYTHINGGGGGG. So they'll have no excuses about, ohhhh we couldn't get this or that passed b/c of the republicans, therefore we didn't get to pass our ideas. So when their socialists ideas fail miserably, and when a married teacher and fireman are paying more in taxes than ever b4.... people will get to see how utterly wrong their ideas are.

The problem is, when the next pres. comes around, he'll have to spend all his time fixing those issues..... and then they'll just say... "see... they didn't do any better."

Lets just hope there is another chance for an election!

No, the war should have been finished the first time in 1990/91 We wouldn't have been back if that would have been completed. The wounded and lost soles would have been a lot less. All we did was give Saddam a break to restore what was damaged so he can fight another day.

As for Iraq, what has happened is behind us. Our focus should be to get our men and women out of Iraq when the time is right. Focus on Osama in Afgan with a surge of force and we will be better off.

We should have focused on Afghanistan in the first place, not Iraq. Bin Laden was never IN Iraq but for some reason this whole "WMD" thing came into play and we lost focus. I am glad that we got Saddam but would have been a whole lot happier with Bin Laden first.

I guess it all depends on which party controls everything. If it the Republicans controlling everything, than we should be fine. If it's the democrats we're in trouble. (j/k )

Ark. police hurt trying to break up Obama party

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Police arrested seven people after a melee at an impromptu Barack Obama victory celebration near the campus of Arkansas State University. Three police officers suffered minor injuries.

A female officer's nose was broken when a man jumped on top of her and punched her without provocation, Jonesboro police Capt. Lynn Waterworth said. Waterworth declined to name those arrested until after a court hearing Wednesday afternoon.

About 200 people gathered at an apartment complex about a block away from campus in northeast Arkansas after Obama was declared the winner of the presidential election Tuesday night, Waterworth said. An off-duty officer moonlighting as a security guard for the apartment complex asked those who had gathered to go home, then called for help, she said.

Two on-duty officers arrived at the apartment complex, with the female officer calling to the crowd over her cruiser's public-address system, Waterworth said. The crowd responded by throwing rocks and beer bottles at police, with one man attacking the female officer, Waterworth said.

A distress call summoned more than 40 police officers from surrounding departments and the Arkansas State Police, Waterworth said. One officer suffered a cut to the forehead and another fell to the ground during the scuffle, she said.

"What should have been a happy, celebratory time turned into a bad experience for a lot of folks out there at the hands of a few," Waterworth said.

Julian Smith, 17, a freshman majoring in computer science, said the fight started as officers attempted to break up the celebration, which was already winding down.
