So according to your interpretation of the bible murderers are no worse off in the eyes of God than liars?

I would have to disagree, I don't think that we have enough history in this regard to verify if it hurts no one or not. For example, do we know the effects of children who grow up in a homosexual environment?

Homosexuality has been around since day one. I would guess it's been around as long as the original bible has been around and probably even before that.

                Lp,
I’m in no position to try to decipher how God ranks levels of sin. I do know that there are a few references to homosexuality in the Bible however; the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God.

Homosexuality has been around in humans and nature for a very long time. Homosexuals have been raising children for quite some time; the difference is that now they can be free with their lifestyle. I think that a homosexual couple can provide a loving stable home for unwanted children. If the Christians of the world wish to stop this, then perhaps these people that pass such harsh judgment should adopt these children so there are none left. This isn’t about you and me, it’s about these kids that live in unstable loveless shelters. I’d much rather see these unwanted kids being raised by a loving homosexual couple then by a system that is cold and overwhelmed.

yeah... and? heterosexuality is not a choice either and those of us that are feel it is right also.

I just see so many comments about homosexuality being a choice and I am pretty certain (having someone that is homosexual in the family) that it is not a choice, rather just a way of being.

I always wonder about the whole God think. Since we cannot ask "him" how do we really know what is offensive. We rely on a bunch of people that wrote a series of texts that have been re-interpreted several times throughout history... and yet we use religion and these texts as baselines to take positions on such things as sexuality. I also wonder why we give credence to using religion as a baseline in the face of so many of its "guardians" and perveyors are pedophiles, homosexual pedophiles and given congregation members "sin" constantly as they do.

I just don't understand where church fits into this...

I can see however that there is an individually defined set of moral "issues" and related theories that are exposed and forced because large groups hold like beliefs...
