I think the problem is that once you start to change the definition then your climbing a slippery slope. Meaning, if we change the definition to allow "consenting adults" to enter legal marriage then what's to stop 3 "consenting adults" from marrying. Why cannot 4 people that love eachother all be married. Why cannot someone marry their pet, I just think that once we start tampering with this definition to apease the sexual appetite of a few then we will need to continue to redefine the issue to satisfy every sexual deviant. The system works the way it is, this is nothing more than an attempt to push the gay adgenda on the American public. No one is stopping gays from entering domestic partnership or doing what they want to do in the bedroom, just keep it in your bedroom and out of mine.

It still comes down to how you raise your children. If your depending on schools to raise your kids your screwed all ready IMO.

The reality is if this does not pass today they will keep trying until it does and it will some day. Just raise you kids the right way and you wont have any problems.

We have banned rock-in-roll, alcohol, and abortion at one time. Now they are all legal because we have accepted it now. Homosexuality has been around for many ages and frowned upon (don't get me wrong, I do not live that type of live) there will be a time that this will also be recognized. Why not now?

Heck, if the ruling was to allow one person to marry multiple people, I would vote for that also.

Allowing multiple people to marry would have horrible unintended concequences and be an enormous drain on our legal system. Imagine trying to deal with divorce and child custody when there are 4 or 5 adults fighting over 1 or 2 kids. that would be a nightmare.....

no you didn't do anything wrong, just that your arugment that alcohol and abortion were once banned has nothing to do with Prop 8. Prop 8 is not trying to ban homosexuality......that was my point

Correct, it has nothing to do with Prop 8. It was a statement that in our past, we have issues that were "questionable" and today, they are part of our lives. Personally, I see that one day marriage will be defined as "two consenting adults". Not by sex. If it does pass today, then I am sure this will flare up again sooner than soon.

Or the direction that will eventually be taken. IDK, there are already a few states that allow them to marry anyways. Seems to be a "domino effect" in the works.

yea, unfortunately a few states cannot have gay marriage and the rest not. Its an all or nothing thing, I mean what are people going to do if they have to move......
