Or better yet.... Texas doesn't lose, OU doesn't lose again, Penn St. loses, Bama Loses, USC loses, OSU loses, FL. loses again, Georgia loses, and we end up with a rematch of OU/TX in the Orange bowl. That could be fun!Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

[QUOTE=LovinPowell;227793]I believe that there is a clause in the BCS that you have to be a conference champion to be in the NC game. So OU vs UT is out. But OU still has a chance to get there. But so do about 7 other schools
Well unless that was added OU vs TX is still possible. A few years back OU made it I face USC I think it was and that yr we did not win the conf.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

BCS made the rule after we were embarrased by USC.
OU and Tx are in the South. South plays North so might be Tx vs Missouri
OU lost to Texas so Texas can loose another game and still beat OU in the head to head.
but if Texas lost 2 games - then we might still be in the raceIf its not fun, Why do it?

Actually you are incorrect. There was a meeting to install it, but the conferences with Conference championship games had a requirement b4 voting it in.... they demanded every conference have a championship game. The rule was never made due to the fact that Pac. 10, Big East, and Big 10 refused to host a Conference Championship game. They threw a fit stating that they already played everyone in their conference, so it wasn't fair. Pete Carroll was one of the most outspoken critics and whined and fussed. So the rule was never installed. It HOWEVER, is sort of unwritten that the Polsters would never allow it to happen. That being said, it's not against any written rules.
They even discussed the possibility of this exact scenario on ESPN today believe it or not.
http://www.bcsfootball.org/bcsfb/eligibility (note there is no written rule)
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/5...mpionship-game (note they specifically state that it's an unwritten rule)
If it came down to everyone else having two losses and only OU and TX with one loss or less it COULD happen. Would it happen... when hell freezes over MAYBE... but it's not out of the realm of possibility.Last edited by Tanner; 10-15-2008, 12:14 AM.Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... Ah did not hear that part of the history... Sounds like you have done the research.
All I remember is everyone bitching that OU was in the Championship game and did not win their conference. Next season, there was talk of creating a new rule to stop that from happening again. Just assumed it had been created and was because of what had happened the previous year.
That is actually good news for OU.If its not fun, Why do it?
