That would work if the gas throttle is on the left hand and the break in the right for smoother gear shifting. If it was on the right hand it would be to hard to shift and get you hand back in the gas.

Hey Sean. I am very excited at all your progress... As always, you continue to amaze me and inspire me. A good friend of mine has a gas/brake control he uses for his Mercedes. I think the exact unit will work for you as you can hit the clutch with your left leg just fine. Do you think you will be able to use regular controls after you have your new leg fitted?? I will shoot you any info I can get from him later today....

Well, what I was referring to would be a performance upgrade. The transmission would be similar to what you have on an Indy car.

I would not mind that at all, esp after riding in a paddle shift Lambo on Monday.(I have pics but who knew the iphone takes pics too high of quality to fit on the tige site)

The paddle shifters would be perfect if you were missing your left leg. Still makes it hard to operate gas and brake with left leg only... Here is a link to the system my friend uses. The ideal situation would be to use it with an automatic cuz now you have to steer, shift and control the gas and brake all with your hands.... see what you think and if anyone can figure out a way... i bet Dom can do it!!!!

Most likely you will have to turn the car into an automatic then get it fitted for the hand controls. I know Kobe Bryant paid 25g's (or something crazy like that) to get his wifes Lambo turned into an automatic because she couldn't drive stick.

Thats's odd, lambo comes in a paddle shift.

I think G-Money should be domz personal driver...kinda like those commercials.

Well after talking to someone on the phone for about an hour and talking to GM as well it's not looking good. The problem is that you must keep one hand on the wheel at all times to be legal. They can move my gas pedal so I can use my left foot really easy and I plan on having my truck adapted that way soon. The issue is the hand controls could be fitted to the brake and clutch, but then how do I drive, shift and clutch? I'm still trying to figure something out but its not looking good.

I don't know what year your car is, but I looked around for a little info.

I agree that the easiest way is to do an automatic conversion with a beefed up tranny to handle the HP.

Did you post over on Corvetteforum Sean? One option would be to sell it and buy a newer C6 that has the paddle shifters and then have that car converted to the hand controls for the gas. I know the Z06 is your dream car but you could always step down a level and then supercharge it...

Yes I have posted on vette forums. The issue with just selling and getting a auto normal z is that the z06 us not just a different motor. It's better brakes, Lighter body, better suspension and more. I have come to the conclusion I would convert it to an auto. But on u tube I saw a guy similar to me driving with no mode so maybe I can too when I get my leg.
