Kinda sad that this is the best of the best that this country has to offer (for both parties)? Both candidates have their strengths and weaknesses but I still feel like there has to be someone better out there. It really makes me wonder if we shouldn't have someone from the private sector with no political experience run the country....

Obama's 143 Days of Senate Experience

Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not much.

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.

After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan.

            143 days --

I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that.

In contrast, John McCain's 26 years in Congress, 22 years of military service including 1,966 days in captivity as a POW in Hanoi now seem more impressive than ever. At 71, John McCain may just be hitting his stride.

            Think about IT!!!

143 days? You think he's only worked 143 days since 1997? He was a State Senator from 1997-2005 and then moved on to the US Senate. And if our country is still in the shape it's in with McCain being in Congress for 26 years...Yikes! Also, isn't he a senator from a state where the majority of the illegal immigrants are coming in?

Just some more pre-election political humor

"Subject: Help save the government 5 Million

A president's pension currently is $191,300 per year. Let's assume the next
                  president lives to age 80.

Sen McCain would receive ZERO pension as he would reach 80 at the end of two
                  terms as president.

Sen Obama would be retired for 26 years after two terms and would receive
                  $4,973,800 in pension.

Therefore it would certainly make economic sense to elect McCain in
                  November.

                  How's that for non-partisan thinking?

Isn't the average life expectancy of a man like 73? Better hope his VP is old too or that plan could backfire....

LOL. That reminds me of a local newspaper columnist who writes satire. One year he did a piece on reasons you could give the IRS for not paying your taxes. One of them was:

"Last year you spent it on stupid stuff like Dan Quayle's salary."

Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

Don't forget they still get pensions from any other gov't body that they served in.

His VP is a 44 year old woman with less experience than Obama. I don't know if I should praise him for selecting her to snatch a few votes, or if I should be scared to death that she is one heartbeat or one melanoma recurrence away from being president.
