I agree, but not for the reasons he says. I think every child should learn a foreign language as early as possible and, if you had to pick one, Spanish is pretty popular in the world.

I agree, it is nice to have your children learn another language but Obama says that every child should learn Spanish then he says a French phrase towards the end when referencing the US going to Europe.

Well in CA, you should learn Spanish, English, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and probably Serbian.

I want to learn Spanish, I could definitely use it daily around here in Colorado. Food for thought - Why do we all speak English and not Navajo or some other Native American language?

It's funny, I can program in all kinds of languages but can only speak one. I think it would be cool to be able to speak a few different languages. My daughter was taking Spanish in an afterschool program and was picking it up pretty quickly but then got bored for some reason and stopped going.

Because Obama wants the Spanish vote, that's why. If we had other languages well represented, he'd say it had to be them.
