Well, finally went to my first AAA baseball game. I have been to numerous Major League Baseball and AA baseball games but never a AAA team. The Sacramento RiverCats is the triple A team for the Oakland Athletics and last year got first place in the Pacific Coast League. The RiverCats play teams from Portland Oregon, Las Vegas Nevada, Colorado SkySox, and a few other cities.
The RiverCats played the SkySox. The game started with the temperature at 105 degrees Fahrenheit, zero wind, and the smoke from the fires in NorCal were visible. The pitcher started the game by retiring the first 13 batters he saw. So he was on fire the entire game. However, the game was about over in the 4th inning when the RiverCats scored 7 runs including a grand slam from the DH and from the pictures, you can see we had some sweet seats. The final score was 11-0 in favor of the RiverCats.
Picture 1: Before the game started in left field.
Picture 2: Lounge chairs in left field??? yes and they were all empty. Good thing that there wasn't any home run balls hit into that area. Don't think anyone would have been able to retrieve them for a souvenir.
Picture 3: Dinger the mascot was on the cart going towards home plate.
Picture 4: Our seats right before the game started.
Picture 5: The only way to enjoy baseball. Double fisting it also.
