This summer, I had 2, new to the river 13 year old girls with me on our wakeboarding river trips.
Both tiny, not even 85 lbs, unique character, strikingly pretty girls. Ashly and Alexa.(This Ashly not to be confused with yet another Ashly that camps with us too, sadly who's mom died last year.)
Ashley and Alexa met from being mutual friends of my son.
Ashly is from Japan, lives a few blocks away and is being raised by her 65 year old dad. Her mom passed away when she was little. OK, this is the story she believes,, and we can all speculate about her life and that story, but it's not the point of the thread.
Ashley lives life to the fullest. Skateboards with the best of them, surfs like a champ, dresses like a their is a mom around but on her own inititave. Just a super sweet kid,, the whole neighborhood lights up when Ashley is over. I kid you not,, the house lights up when Ashley enters.
She picked up wakeboarding immediatly with us in Parker like it was second nature. Just teriffic.
Ashly and Alexa are music prodigies. They both play guitar like you've never heard it played. Remember, they're just 13 years old.
They brought their guitars to the river, both electric and accoustic.
Their electrics are made by a company that specializes in guitars for girls. A thinner shorter neck, a dent in the body to accomodate a boob,, & as the girls told me,, "specially made for chicks."
Man o man can these girls play.
I had our Tige' 22iR anchored about 20 feet offshore from our RV site. All the kids on the trip were in it playing music in the Tige's sound system and the girls had their accoustics on board.
Kinda of a nice blend in the warm Parker night.
The kids broke out my CD's and stuck in one that had them all remarking to me: "Who is this?"
It was a CD I downloaded of a band that was super popular at the river in the 60's: "Love" "Da Capo" and a Fleetwood Mac tune I burned on the same CD too called " Never going Back Again".
A really hot guitar tune. The girls picked up the licks and had it down in no time. A killer sound coming outta the boat.
They bitched a little that a couple cords were tough ones,, Damfino,, I don't play. They sounded so awsum,, the people on the beach were applauding.
The Love tunes are excellent vocals and awsum guitar playing by guys that once hung out with Jimi Hendrix.. A group long forgotten, but every bit as popular in LA as the Doors were in the 60's.
The kids loved the awsum sounding 'Love" album on the Tige' sound system in the Parker night.
OK, the $99 dollar connection:
Alexa's mom had driven her to the river. My RV was full, so I sprung for a room for them at the Bluewater.
I gotta a deal,, $33 bucks a night, or $99 for the three nights they could stay.
At night the kids were all into their own social mix at Emerald Cove, so Alexas mom invited me to see the room I was paying for at the Bluewater (said the spider to the fly).
My long time girlfriend had become a professional b***** and left me,, so I said: "sure",,
Off the two of us went,, leaving the kids behind,,
Nice rooms, killer view,, good price. After a few drinks at the Casino bar,, and slow dancing to the band,, Alexas mom blindsided me and whispered in my ear: **** ******* **** ******!!!!
(this post ends here because this is family forum, but I left the hotel with a big smile)
Turned out to be the best $99 bucks I ever spent at the river.
