    Taking Wakeboarding photos

    I just picked up a Nikon D60 and am going out this weekend to do some boarding and shoot some photos. Any tips or tricks I should know about when shooting from the boat? Shooting mode, apature, best way to stabilized the camera? Thanks in advance.

    You need to get good at taking pix without auto focus, the camera will take faster pix with out it on.

    Also make sure you have a high speed SD card this will also allow you to take faster pix.

      There should be three auto focus modes. I would use the one just for the center of the frame. Take a look at my last thread (The hills are alive with...). All of those were taken with the wrong auto focus setting. I'm still learning . I think it still did alright. I haven't seen any wakeboarders doing 440+.
      You'll get your chance, smart guy.

          Going to buy a high speed SD card for all of the action photos! You will never have looked so good boarding.

            When I take wakeboarding photos I usually use the "TV" setting which is Time Value on my Cannon. I never use the auto modes.

            My camera settings;
            F Stop - 5.6
            White Mode - Sunny
            ISO - 1000
            Exposure is usually set to normal

            Focus - I switch to manual and auto depending on the situation/shot. My eyes cant focus that far back so its hard for me to tell at times. Usually manual focus takes faster and better shots. I also use a telephoto lense and I have found the ideal range is around 100mm

            Here are a few examples of my settings.
