Kite Boarding

Has anyone tried kite boarding? If so how did you like it and how hard was it to learn to work the kite?
Now that I am boatless I am going to try it up in the Columbia Gorge that is about one hour from where I live.

the guy i kbow that sells them said the newer the kite the easier it is. he said its a blast and he prefers it to behind the boat. i dont know about that but it does look like fun. he said he his helping to tweak the kite that you use with a board behind boat, he says its not near as cool as just kite by itself.
