    Mac Safari

Anyone have trouble with the Safari quitting unexpectedly? This happens to me several times a day. Called Apple, they told me to delete the Caches folder, and it still has not seemed to help. Any suggestions?

What version are you running? Do you have the latest OSX updates?

I haven't had any issues with mine.

I'd use Firefox, I have had problems with safari previously, and stopped using it last year, purely a firefox fan here. Plus they have some really funny adds.

I have all the updates. Version:10.5.2 I've only had this iMac a little bit before Christmas. I talked to one of my friends and he said it happened to him sometimes. I'd like to keep Safari, but if these problems persist I'll have to end up changing.

I second the Firefox idea... Although I do have to use Safari sometimes because Firefox can't handle certain pages... The Wetsounds gallery for some reason doesn't work in Firefox but it does work in Safari...???

IMO there is no good, solid, complete browser for the Mac...

Safari has problems with some webpages and the way the pages are coded. Certain Flash elements, javascript and other plug-ins will cause Safari to crash. Firefox has the same issues, but to a lesser degree. I gave up on Safari because it was crashing so often on pages that Firefox handled with no problem. One nice feature with Firefox is that if it crashes, it asks you if you want to re-start the previous session, or start anew. Plus, Firefox runs faster than Safari, even on my old G4.

Oh ok, it normally quits when i have 3 to 4 pages open. I've been trying tabs and it seems to work a little better. I will give Firefox a look. Thanks guys.

Ok so I downloaded Firefox. Are there any problems with security because it was downloaded through the internet?

Go to autofill preferences, and turn off, other forms. Also, take a look at this page.

I actually use both FF and Safari. I just wish Safari had the neat plugins/addons like FireFox does. I use so many of the FireFox plugins (Firebug, Colorzilla, Web Developer tool bar, Live Page Rank) daily that its hard for me to use Safari exclusively

I have to say that Safari seems to load faster and render pages quicker too.
