    Gas line

Any heating & A/C guys out there or anyone that has ever run there own gas line.

I got a new grill this past Spring and want to get it off the bottle and onto the the house natural gas.

I think I could do this but wanted to know if it is realistic to try, and if so, what do I need to pay close attention to so I dont blow up the house

It's almost a straight shot from the crawl space, through the foundation, to the deck under the grill. Code says I need a dedicated shut-off for the line and I will probably put one at the grill also.

So I'm thinking: 2 valves, 1 "T", pipe, elbows, grill conversion kit, hangers, thread sealer?. Anything else I'm missing?

Make sure the pipe tape you get is the yellow stuff rated for gas lines. The white teflon plumbers tape isn't code approved. We had a tap run off the gas line we installed for our cooktop that would fuel our BBQ. I installed an adapter so I could use the quick connect that Weber makes. Wans't a hard install.

    Ambivalent? Yes. Or Not.

Just make sure you don't have an open flame near.

Okay, someone had to comment on this.
