Similar thing happened in Martinez, California after a family of beavers made a dam across a river that runs through downtown. Flooding worries made the beavers endangered, but the public outcry spared them. Now they're gonna lower the height of the dam to help prevent flooding. To be honest, I didn't think we had beavers in California. Go figure...

Wow.....land of fruits and nuts.
We declared open season on Nutria which have been destroying our wetlands and parks. Nutria makes great furs, and it is tasty if prepared correctly.

They should call in a bunch of coonasses/rednecks to fix the problem. I'd sight my rifle in on them.http://www.wakeboatworld.com

You can order it in some restaurants around here.
Five years ago, the state encouraged eating nutria as a way to thin out the population -- and for a while, famous Louisiana chefs were serving it up in the finest New Orleans restaurants.
Trapper Paul Autin has plenty of nutria meat on hand, but he and his fellow trappers don't eat it much. "We never got into eating it, I guess (because) the looks... it looks like a rat. It’s not a pretty animal."
BTW I've had coon too.Last edited by spharis; 12-24-2007, 02:21 PM.http://www.wakeboatworld.com

We have a couple that hang out in our neighborhood.
