OK boys, no more nails in the coffin. The casket is now being lowered, and dirt is now being thrown on top.

Toshiba marketing exec left the door wide open. "Given the market developments in the past month, Toshiba will continue to study the market impact and the value proposition for consumers, particularly in light of our recent price reductions on all HD DVD players," Jodi Sally, VP of marketing for Toshiba America Consumer Products, said.http://www.wakeboatworld.com

It may be dead, but I just picked up the Transformers, The matrix trilogy, and MI trilogy. I hope the prices keep dropping. www.deepdiscount.com has a bunch for $12.20.

well, I have been working on being able to rip HDDVD, with full DD 5.1 sound, in 720p so that you can then play those on your apple TV. When I am finished, I will share it. And then soon after that, it should be available on handbrake or some software like that. Transformers and matrix is awesome in HD. Have those.http://wake9.com/

I can't really tell, i am guessing around 4 gigs. The cool thing, is the way the new ATV works, you don't need to sync anything to it, just leave itunes on on your computer. So the movies are the only thing to take space, and 40G is more than enough for several rentals at a time. If you BUY a movie, its on your computer, not ATV.http://wake9.com/

I wonder why it was such a big deal that Blu-Ray had 30 gig vs. 25 for HD-DVD.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

On the bluray disc, or HDDVD disc, they usually use VC-1 codecs, or mpeg2 still. The size on the disc, can be anywhere from 10-15+gigs for a movie. And when you have extra features and all, easily 20. But when you rip, you transcode to a more efficient codec, like h.264, where you can do 720p at 4-5mbps, and keep the size down to under 4gigs a movie. But the original was at 1080P, and at a much higher bitrate, especially if mpeg2.http://wake9.com/
