I remember part, I heard on a review that it won't do the menus right. One of the nice things about hddvd is the menus can overlay over the movie, so you can turn on subs, or change audio, without going out of the movie to menu. The LG combo players won't do this, and I believe there were other issues, again, don't remember all.
And the funny part here is when you turn on Spanish or French during the movie and there isn't a break/change in progress of the talking.

It's just too funny when they are talking in English and then you change it to Spanish and then to French... he he he

You are easily amused. ;-) Its also cool to flip between DD and DTS to hear the difference.

I have one, and it DOES work. The issue though, is the xbox. I have one non-elite, one elite, BOTH are FRICKIN loud. I don't want to hear the fans in my xbox when the movie quiets down. Its VERY annoying. So I got a toshiba HD player when the prices started coming down a few months ago, and came with 5 hddvd movies. Its quiet as a mouse.

with no disk in the xbox it's pretty quiet. I didn't think the HD-DVD was loud at all.

I am not talking about the HDDVD player being loud, they are not that bad. I am talking about the cooling fans on the 360. They go constantly while watching a movie, and they are loud. It doesn't bother me so much playing a game, but it sure does while watching a movie. I am a bit of a sound snob, admittedly, but they are loud.

That is why I am loking into buying three 6 inch cooling fans for my entertainment center. One fan on the bottom of the draw pushing air in and two other fans on the top sucking the air out. The fans are similar fans below but 120 volt ones.

Also in addition to what ragboy posted about the difference between HD and a progressive DVD: absolutely correct. You can't tell a difference once you get beyond a certain distance. The TV is where the difference resides. I had a chart that compared observations based on distance to the picture and size. I will see if i can dig it up.

Make sure they are super quiet, nothing ruins a good theatre like fan noise.
