Crap, I have a Toshiba HD-DVD player. Well hopefully this doesn't hurt Toshiba too bad, I'd hate to lose my job

Can anyone play taps? I have an extra HDMI port on my receiver, I think I am going to pick up a blu ray player this weekend.

LOL - I just peeked into this thread for the first time and you were so gung ho for HD DVD at the beginning of it...

y, I was, I thought it would win. More people still buy hddvds. But if the studios jump, nowhere to go.

I really don't care who wins. Just pick a damn format and lets run with it.

No joke. You pay a price for being on the bleeding edge, but I love the way HD DVDs look on my plasma. I am sure blurays will look the same. The cheap players enticed me, I guess now I can almost rent anything from netflix in hd if I get a bluray player.

Hollywood video also rents BD and HDDVD's. The rental fee is .40 more... Yes 40 cents more to rent the HD version of movies.

I'm not getting rid or my Hd dvd player, it's still great. I just picked up the Bourne Trilogy this week. I may get a BD player, but not until I can get one with an RJ45 port and under $200.

The sad thing is that our local Blockbuster store did this same survey. Virtually no one had Blue Ray and lots of people had HD DVD. Now Blockbuster no longer carries HD DVD.

                          What's up with that?

Bluray has a ton of money behind it. They are the gorilla.

But survey after survey says customers want something else or don't care.
