best buy like any good store tells it's employees to see what they make the most money on. pretty simple economics.

Just go to newegg, and the ones by like linkdepot. Cheap, and work great. DVI, and HDMI are digital, so don't need MONSTER type cables, especially under 10ft. Analog cables, if the signal degrades slightly, you can hear it. Digital cables just transmit 1s and 0s, not waveforms. So a digital cable pretty much either works, or it don't.

If you are using component, get good cables, if hdmi or dvi, and optical, the cheapies should be fine, I have never had an issue with the linkdepot cables at newegg.http://wake9.com/

I remember part, I heard on a review that it won't do the menus right. One of the nice things about hddvd is the menus can overlay over the movie, so you can turn on subs, or change audio, without going out of the movie to menu.
