On a side note, the first plane he (the pilot) passes is actually his. He wanted to get into Air Racing and built that particular Yak 9, named Steadfast, to race at Reno. However, the owner of Voodoo wanted to win and saw that Will (pilot) was one hell of a stick and also fit under the race canopy (owner does not). Nobody in their right mind turns down the opportunity to race Voodoo. This was the first time he (Will) had to race against his own racer.
