Cost me like 25k. I used tandys and other networked computers in HS learning some programming, and I remember buying it with my own money, thinking, "What will I EVER do with a meg of RAM?
I have 8 gigs of ram in my machine now, 2 dual core processors. Crazy.
If I do the math correctly... You bought a 25k computer when you were 15?
Users who bought Apple machines from October 1st on can participate in Apple's Up-To-Date Program, which provides free Leopard upgrades (for $10 shipping).

I'm using a MacBook Pro Dual 2.33 GHZ with 2GB RAM and it's the best computer I've ever had. And for a laptop it's the best... I usually use it with a monitor and have it open so I can use two screens... I also use CS2 and a bunch of other apps and the thing just runs like butter...
I'm kind of sad because it's come down to the point that I absolutely need to install Parallels or similar to run Windows for a few little things that I need for work... Who's using what on the Windows emulation side of things... I've heard so much back and forth on what's best but am having a hard time making a decision. I need to run both pretty seamlessly without a reboot.

I read that this morning and was stoked!
Lunchbox, I use Parallels on occasion to test my sites and haven't had any issues with it yet. I do like how you can seamlessly integrate it with OSX. Coherence is awesome too but I dont enable it since I only do the occasional testing. I dont need any rebooting and can run XP in OSX like its all apart of the os. Also like any VM ware, its great to be able to make a backup snapshot of your OS too.

Thanks.

There is no question, the best thing to do is find an os x that does what you need, instead of parallels. But when you have to use it, it works great. Since when you close parallels, it saves the windows system, in its current state, and when you launch, it opens back to that exact state, it is very quick, no need to watch xp or vista boot up every time.
