Lake of the Ozarks house rental

I know several of you frequent Lake of the Ozarks and I wanted to find out where we should look to rent a house??? I have been to the lake plenty when I was younger but that was just to the Lodge of Four Seasons, Tan Tar A, or the Ft Leonard Wood rec area. We are thinking of towing the boat up there next summer and wanted to start planning things pretty soon. I know it was busy 5 years ago when I was there last and is only getting bigger. I don't really remember the mile markers at all but what area should we be looking at to not be too far from the action but able to get to some mellow water fairly easy? We will probably need a 4-5 bedroom house of course with a dock. I have looked at some realtor's sites that manage houses and it seems we can get a pretty decent place for $2700-3500/wk. Let me know if you know of any others. Thanks!

Not to be rude, but what makes you want to go to LOZ, It's always so busy and choppy ask Zad he had to get up at 5:30 to get decent water on his vocation.

    Go for T-Rock...(Table Rock Lake)
    Much nicer

The family wants to go to LOZ, plus I couldn't find very many houses for rent on Table Rock. If we can find a house that suits our needs, then I could maybe talk them into it. I'm sure we could find somewhere to board sometime during the weekdays.

I noticed that, but we definitely want a house. It is always easier with kids and several families coming together with a house, more parking. What area would be preferred to look at? I found a good map of the mile markers and figured I would just contact a rental agent about finding a house around a specific area.

From the dam down the the Grand Glaize Arm (about the 20 MM) its always choppy during the day. Stay away from the Grand Glaize unless you are going to party cove.

If you get up real early, 5:00 or 6:00 you can get some glass. We usually had descent water until about 8:00.
The water tends to get dirtier the farther you get. The Niangua Arm gets pretty shallow and skinny in some areas. I would try and get something down in the 30s. From what I can tell its not seawalled down there so that minimzes rollers a TON!!. The whole main channel is seawalled and the rollers just bounce back and forth all day.

Yeah, I was hoping he would chime in, but I don't think he has been on here for quite some time, I wonder if he went to the darkside???? Oh well, thanks for the mile marker suggestions. I remember going through Grand Glaize and that it gets quite hellish. I don't mind rough water to get from point a to point b and I am pretty accustomed to driving through the bathtub effect caused by seawalls, that's all we have here unless we go out in the Gulf. I'm trying to talk the fam into meeting us in the middle in north Georgia or Tennessee so I don't have to tow all the way up there. We'll see.

I think its the Lake of the Ozark state park, but there is another one, Ha Ha tonka state park buts shallow and way down at the end of the Niangua Arm.

I think If you could find a place off of the main "S" you should be alright. The Gravois Arm is nice also. When were you planning on going down? Are you going more for a vacation or for boarding?
