Shows what I am saying, wifi is going to proliferate, and become a commodity. Get free wireless here, and BTW, by some coffee, or burgers while your at it. Who will need 3g, when wifi starts showing up EVERYWHERE. Then long distance wifi.

Makes sense, but what is the range of long distance wifi? I'm still waiting for 3g, just because the edge doesn't work for me and also want the pushing of enterprise and what not. but I know this, that I'll be getting the 3g the first it comes out

also, if the wifi doesn't work in the field, but the 3g does, it's another reasone I need it.

Ok guys I am about to buy an iPhone. Question is should I hold out for the 3g version? Does the current network suck? Help...

Dom has been waiting all this time for the 3g version. IMO, I don't think you will see in any time soon thou.

When we see it, then we should believe it. Probably the way to go about this. Dom would have said something about this if it was the case. He also wants the 3g iPhone.

here is what I can say on this issue. My brother has one and it works great. It's a great phone and with the updates to it it works great.

The question is what are you going to be using it for?

For me I will be on the net just about all the time and while it does load well, the edge is slow when it comes to sites with pics or heavy data. For me to go into my work email system and back through firewalls it just didn't cut it. I have used 3g before on broad band cards and it was fine.

That is why I'm waiting for the 3g that will be out this summer.

If you don't need lots of internet usage then it's a great phone. Or you can always do like people did on the 8 gig to 16 gig phone's, they just took it back and paid the 15% restock fee.

I'm waiting, but also it's cuz I don't want to break my contract for a phone that is not exactly what I want, plus it still doesn't do pic messages which i use a ton of.

You should be able to receive picture mail from others as a link to the picture in a txtmsg
