I would def bet its not in there. When those mac book pros came out, people saw the chip, and recognized it as N capable, then apple came out later with the upgrade. iPhones, like the macbook pros, have been thoroughly dissassembled and put under a microscope, so if there was a 3g capable chip in there, someone would have probably noticed.

You can not make a wireless router N unless it has the hardware in it. Rag said that they had a G but disabled the N so the hardware supported it.


Same example Rag made but with another device: My PDA (Sprint Touch) has GPS and AGPS but Sprint has disabled this hardware because their network is not ready to support my phone yet. In April, they are going to push an update to the phone to enable it and update the network to EVDO Rev A... At that time, I will have a much faster network for my PDA.

Do you mean the cost of text messages? I don't know of any rate change to increase data, we have unlimited data. In the past, changes apply to new contracts, they don't roll into us.

I think att is making the data cap on everyone, including current plans.

maybe not. I don't know. I tried to understand it but there is conflicting data.

Apple has pushed unlimited data with the iphones. If there is a change like that, it would be pretty big iPhone news. 5G is a LOT of data, if that is a monthly cap, that would be VERY tough to go over, even for me, especially with EDGE. I think they are just trying to avoid the few people that find a way to completely abuse it.

see that's what I was wondering. I was just curious as I was going to get the family plan and use the nokia 6555 as a data phone for the gf. tether to it and this is where they are stopping it. I think that was the issue people wanting to use the 3g as there main means of internet
