how do you input the code into the iphone? What platform is it using, something where I just have to put it in via itunes? just wondering if it's even possible. I mean all these cats have already activated with att and I don't wanna do that.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

With the unlock, you can take your sim card from your tmobile phone and just put it in your iphone. And switch back if you want.
Here is the thing, I have been known to hack from time to time, especially in the area of Video and DVD ripping. For instance, I hacked my appleTV almost immediately after getting it, and I also was the first one to figure out how to create a Ripped DVD in a format that is is DVD quality, plays on the AppleTV, and also get DTS or Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound when it isn't supposed to do so.

I also bought the first Intel MacBook to help hack and test the ability to boot windows on it. Fun Stuff. I have seen the details of the iphone hack, and currently, it is software, but alters the phone at a very low level. Also, the hacks I have done in the past, are not supported by apple, but not antagonized by apple either. I have the installer.app hack on my iphone now, which is simple. But apple will for the most part look the other way. Apple is NOT going to look the other way with unlocking. They can't, its at the core of their deal with ATT. So they are going to do all they can to stop it. First by litigating with anyone distributing or selling software to make this unlock hack easy for the masses, and second, they will continue to update the iphone firmware to break it in future updates. Apple is very adept at this. You have to connect your phone to itunes. Apple will come up with a new firmware, that has some GREAT new features. Or new version of iTunes with some great new features, and if you upgrade, your iphone no workee no more. So you are going to constantly be dealing with this. This isn't so bad for a guy like me, who considers it fun, and codes for a living, but I don't think it will enhance your experience. For the longest time I couldn't update my itunes, because I was using jhymn, a DRM remover for itunes for iTunes 6, that iTunes 7 permanently broke. Now they have QTFairUse, and iTunes Plus, so I am happy.
For the record, I pay for all my software and stuff, I am not a pirate, and I only rip movies I own. I am one of those rare guys who has photoshop, and can prove he owns it. Its a lot of money, but I think it must be bad karma, and a bad example to my kids, to write software on one hand, and steal others intellectual property on the other. However, I feel if I buy a dvd, or a song, its mine, and I can do with it what I please, and I believe the supreme court has backed me up on that one.
Now, I have to admit, there have been occasions when I have missed a show or something, and not available to download on itunes, and have downloaded it via bittorrent. But that is not the norm for me. If you saw my itunes bill, you would realize I am not a pirate. My wife calls it my crack.http://wake9.com/

I think if I got one, I would start tinkering with it and keep it up to date. Keep another phone for back up, but I also think I may wait. Wait for the other phones to come out. they look like they may be even better then this phone.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!
