The New IPHONE

There are only rumors on new 3g iphone, but most think won't be until at least summer. But apple will continue to roll out new software features.

yeah I have noticed they are working on MMS and SMS to multiple people. I'm gonna wait another week or two make sure they don't drop the price again and then I'll pull the trigger.

Now, that would be cool if they developed 3G. There are a lot of people at SprintUsers.com that would kill to have that one.

it's going to happen, just a matter of win. the new iphone has been confirmed to be out in 08, just a matter or when and what is on it. the 2g isn't too bad I used it a bunch during the holidays but if you have pics 3g rocks.

some interesting reading. AT&T promieses faster service and apple declines. SO is it possible to upgrade to 3g from 2g without getting a new phone? I mean would just an update take care of that?

That would mean that apple included a 3g chipset in the iphone, and have not enabled it/unlocked it. This is possible, they have done it before. They did it with macbook pros, and the wireless chipset. It had 802.11N chipset, but only enabled for G when shipped, then a $5 software udpated enabled the N feature. However, the iphone is much smaller, and has been opened and thoroughly examined, I would think someone would have caught that, unless apple purposely disguised what they did. If anyone could hide 3g support in there, then enable via software, it would be apple.

very interesting, but then my next question is wouldn't the battery life just be sucked down? that's another thing I constantly here. So therefore one would think the new one would have 3g and a longer battery life, but just me thinking outloud.

not if they worked something out in the interim that helped. I do know, that when I turn off wifi, and bluetooth on my iphone, battery is outstanding, like a couple days. But only a few hours with both turned on. Wifi is the big drain, similar to 3g. Bluetooth is also a drain, but not as bad. But it was the same on my razor, turn BT off, and it went forever.

That is the same with every phone that I have had. The bluetooth sucks the living life out of batteries.

No, I wouldn't do anything until apple rolls out the new SDK, and see how third party apps are going to work after that point.

I planned on waiting till after the expo, see what you guys come back with info wise and what is released and then pull the trigger.
