Got my new MiniDV camcorder today...

Very nice David!

I checked it out on the web. It looks like a really good unit. You can't go wrong with Sony either. You know, it's kinda like a Tige'. Great brand.

I saw that it supports USB streaming. I'm guessing that you may not need that firewire card if your computer has USB 2.0, but I could be wrong.

The camcorder does not need the fire wall card because of the USB streaming feature. Hopefully I'll get some footage next weekend and post it...

It's firewire not fire wall...

And firewire is the way to go, b/c the USB function of MOST camcorders is SLOOOOW! I use firewire w/ my Panasonic PV-GS70 & PV-DV202 and it is AMZAING!

Whoops...Firewire...I got it now. . I just use the USB streaming. Its easy and if its a little slower its not going to hurt my feelings. I just need it to work.
