My mom had a sweet Pinto. Chocolate Brown with a set of Baby Moons.
I had a girlfriend in highschool with that same car...automatic and slow as mollases. With a stick, they do ok. And yes, they do make good little race cars.
Got a bad rap from Mr. Nader tho...kinda like the Corvair.

My mom had a sweet Pinto. Chocolate Brown with a set of Baby Moons. I can still remember listening to Steve Miller cranking on the 8 trac while we were on our way out to the lake. She finally traded it in on an '81 Z28. I thought I was the chit riding around in that car.
Pinto's are actually pretty good little race cars. They do pretty well at our local dirt track.
81 Z that was the last year of that body wasn't it? Wife's first car was an 83 Z28, that car would fly had a personalized plate that read "I EAT GT'S" that cause a lot of trouble on the Blvd.

Yes, I believe that was the last year of that body style. Black on black w/ the grey graphics. Hottest car in the trailer park.
I realy liked that Pinto. I'll never forget the day she traded it in. I was sitting in the back seat, looking at the remnants of a half-n-half (ice cream cone) still in the screw head of the clothes hanger hook from when I thought it would be cool to smear ice cream all over the back. Must have been 5 maybe.

Were you suffering from the "Station wagon effect" at the time? This could explain a lot!

my first car was a 1981 Cutlass Supreme with the all to powerful 4.3L V-8. The thing wouldn't spin the tires on a dirt road. Not to mention it was a lovely shade I liked to call Baby Sh** Green.
Ain't gonna happen buddy. I actually like wagons, but the wife hates those as well. She "must have" a 4 door, AWD sedan with a stick. Looks like new BMW 325xi.
