Maybe we thought we could use the hatchback for an emergency exit during a fire or something.Last edited by Tequilasun; 03-30-2007, 06:37 PM. Reason: sometimes a T makes all the difference...TTTTT TTTT"I want to know God's thoughts, the rest are just details"

My parents thought they were the coolest because they had a 1974 Pinto Squire station wagon with the fake wood grain panels on the side. My Dad was so obsessed with taking care of that damn car he made me Armor-All the stupid panels every week so they wouldn't fade. Our 1965 AMC Rambler station wagon had been stolen (Who the hell would steal a freaking station wagon??), and the insurance company had given us a Capri as a rental...don't think it was a great family car because it wasn't. My parents smoked like chimneys and me and my sister spent the majority of family trips with our noses smooshed out the little wind-wing style windows for fresh air. The Pinto was no better. It seems my family is quite inept when it comes to car purchases!

'79 VW Bus, split pea soup green, Westphalia version with the full kitchen inside. It was my choice because I had traveled around Utah in a friends and decided that it would suit my needs of racing mountain bikes when I was in high school. I could cary 4 bikes and three kayaks on the roof rack of that thing. And yes, there were some pretty hot chicks that did dig it.
Exactly like this

my favorite first car story belongs to a good friend of mine. His dad picked up a 63 Vette Convertible and my friend somehow thought it was his car. And he TOLD EVERYONE IN SCHOOL THAT HE WAS GETTING A VETTE!
The day of his birthday, we got off the bus and there was an old puke green Plymouth Duster with a bow on it in the driveway. Should have seen the look on his face when he realized he was not getting the vette!
My first car was a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible - SWEET!If its not fun, Why do it?

How nice, he even brought you some oatmeal creme pies.
My first car was a 68 Mustang. 351W w/ a C4 trans. I built the motor and trans in High School Auto Shop. It did the 1/4 mile in 12.9 seconds. Primer gray.Last edited by TeamAllen; 04-01-2007, 02:34 PM.Mike Allen, Tigé owner since 1997

My mom had a sweet Pinto. Chocolate Brown with a set of Baby Moons. I can still remember listening to Steve Miller cranking on the 8 trac while we were on our way out to the lake. She finally traded it in on an '81 Z28. I thought I was the chit riding around in that car.
Pinto's are actually pretty good little race cars. They do pretty well at our local dirt track. You'll get your chance, smart guy.
