Well it's insane for sure! The only saving grace for me is i work from home. The new truck has a grand total of 724 miles on it in six weeks since buying it! Hell it would only have about 450 if i didn't go up to the lake twice. The wife only works two miles from home so she uses little gas, when not shopping that is

Well the bbl of oil is under $60 and prices are still going up. Saw a station today at 3.25. Most are around 3.03-3.05. NOTHING BUT GREED!

You used to hear people say "boycot the pump for a day". Well you know as well as I that we will be back pumping money into their wallets the next day. I think, some of you may say I'm an idiot but that won't be first, we should all cut our fuel usage to the bare minimum. I mean realy plan your outings so you only make one trip and try not to back-track during your day. Make a loop. Eat at home, carpool more, park the RV, boat and ohv's. just for a month, if everyone made an honest effort to conserve fuel then the gas stations would have no choice but to listen to our bitching. Everyone is complaining but no one is willing to do anything about it. Why do you think i parked the $80k vette and bought a $25k civic? Sacrifice. i don't like it, but I deslike gas stations more. It's the lessor of the two evils. Besides, with the housing/loan market taking a crap here in SoCal, I need to start looking at buying me a forclosure soon. They're gonna be everywhere. I read in Friday's OC Register, home prices could drop 40% in 6 months , and as many as 24 per 1000 homes could be defaulted soon . Great for some, not so great for others.

                    tige md,

Your so true! My vette gets driven sundays and that's about it The good ole corolla gets driven all over, and let me tell you i'm racking the miles up!

I'm all for everyone boycotting, but it really won't matter. The oil is going down, the price is going up, the gas stations are getting greedy now.

Someone come up with a hydrogen car, and well then there you go, the oil price will hit rock bottom then.

Most of the auto makers have a working hydrogen car, GM has had one for about 8 yrs. Problem is the cost in refuling. We dont have the supply infrastructer for hydrogen that we do for gasoline. That would make the cost of a fill up $$$ so much more than what we pay for a gal of gas now.

I dont think that we will ever see cheap gas again. The less fuel we use, thier profits will fall, the more the price per gallon will go up. I'm not talking about the minor ups and downs that we see right now, I mean if this country really cut it's fuel usage by using electrics, hydro, hybrids, mass transit, etc.

Europe has one of the worlds best mass transit/train system in the world. Most people take a train instead of thier cars into and around the city and from city to city and from country to country. But look at the price for a gallon of gas......$7.00

Yes, our country uses more oil than any other country in the world but look at the cost of gas in some of those contrys. For this reason, you can't tell me that the cost goes up because demand goes up. That is BS, when the spectulated demand goes up, the oil co's see an oportunity to increase profits.

gas prices are not going up where we are selling to the transporter. it's been the same or lower for about the last month.

I can't speak for all oil companies, but mine doesn't really own many stores any more. So.... the prices going up is giving the stores more profits, not the oil companies.

                        Just letting you know.

From what I've read everywhere else the stores keep the same profit margin while the oil company rakes in the dough when the prices go up.

                              Evil one,

I know that we are not increasing the price we sell it at, but I guess if we keep selling it the same then we do make a bit more when oil goes down. The distributer gets more if he raises it up.

                              Chpthrill,

yep! I know the guy that owns the Chevron station in my town and he get's 0.10$ a gal, no matter what the cost of gas is. He talks with Chevron every day to figure out what the price per gal is...;.....at least that's what he is telling me!!
