Was $3.19.... Now its $3.80. St. Louis and Missouri have some of the lowest prices in the country.

Don't forget that you have to add in state and federal taxes which here in CO are like $.62 (and the govt talks about excessive profits when they are raking in that much per gallon).

On a side note, I just picked up a Jetta TDI for a daily driver/commute to Houston (170 mi. one way) car. I'm very impressed. 44 Mpg and the thing takes off like a rocket. All-in-all, a very nice car for the money. Nothing like driving 75 miles around town (combo of freeway/stop-n-go) and finding that distance to empty is still 510 miles on a 14 gal tank.

                        I saw that.

I imagine there is validity to his research... albeit whilst it does address energy, it does really address fuel that is used to move the world's goods.

No, but corporate HQ is in Houston and I live in Austin. It's a 170 mile trip one way and I've racked up a lot of miles on my F-150 doing that. Sometimes it's up and back in the same day, so yeah, sometimes it's a commute.

BTW, if anyone subscribes to podcasts on iTunes, there's a really good one called Drive that reviews cars. In the last few weeks, there's a really interesting interview with Maximum Bob (not sure of his last name) who's in charge of products at GM. He talks about the concept behind the Chevy Volt which is due out within the next year or two. Very interesting concept. I have to say I'm impressed.
