On a side note the car is taking fuel guage lessons from the TIGE. Gas guage says 1/2 full and I ran out of gas on the way to work

I guess at this point....who cares? It's expensive. Even if it becomes $5.00 a gal I still need gas to work and what not. I don't know why it's $3.20 here, oh wait, yes I DO.......lovely Oregon Taxes.

                      UK gas Prices

                      Its around £1.06 a litre here, that's £4.66 a gallon.
In dollars that's $9.31 a gallon. Don't you just love the UK, what a rip-off!!
And the goverment just keep putting the price of all fuel up, thinking we won't notice.
The only reasonable priced fuel at the forecourt is LPG which is around £0.50 a litre, but has limited outlets.
I guess I'll have to convert my 340 soon, (at this rate) as filling her up is nearly $280.00 for unleaded and would be $131.70 for LPG.

Unfortunately that's life in the UK, a big rip-off!
                          Everything is expensive here, a new 20V is over £46k ( $92k),
a current advert for a 2005 20v demo with the usual extra's is up for £40k ($79,850) at our only UK dealer.

Wow...... What is the trade-off. I mean, I live in Oregon and we have high income taxes, yet there is no sales tax so while some things may be more than in say Colorado, over-all it is a wash. Are the incomes higher? Something has to give, because a $92k boat at $9 a gallon to fill up would be hard for many of us to pay for. Most of us on this board do well, but I would be out of the boating life if a 20v cost $92k and gas was $9 a gallon. I paid $40k less for a 2007 24Ve brand new.

Oregon tax .44 cents per gallon (includes .18 cents for Fed tax).

                              Sorry,,, gotta maintain the roads.

There isn't one . We pay VAT ( value added tax) on all goods purchased at 17.5%, and the base Income tax is 22% on earnings (£2,151 - £33,300)
                                rising to 40% ( over 33,300).
I would say the average wage is around £21k, and as a rough guide a 3 bedroom semi-detached house is approx £230k.

Needless to say I imported my 2007 20v from the USA during summer
With the initial cost + shipping costs+ insurance, and customs duty( approx 2%) + the dreaded VAT at this side (which is worked out on the total cost inc shipping @17.5%)
I still managed to save money on the purchase of a similar boat here.
                                Only drawback is no warranty.
