From what I understand, pay inside, and it's not an issue.

I for one am glad that no matter how high our gas prices get, I can take comfort in knowing that the West Coast is paying more.

You are correct that if you pay inside, it is not an issue. The limit is on the cards to limit losses if the credit card is stolen.

Yeah that irritates me so much at the gas station. I rarely have a gas bill under $50 with my 2500HD D/A. It seems lately that the limit has been rased to $75 though which I still go over from time to time.

Wow you can fill your 2500HD up for under 50 bucks occasionally?! It costs me darn near 50 bucks to fill up my Mach 1 Mustang w/ a 15 gallon tank. And, from my understanding, the limit depends on what type of card you are using.

$50 with the Debit card at Sam's Club, no limit on a normal Credit Card.
$75 with an AMEX at Sinclair's.

I think the $50 is because of the debit card and the $75 was the gas stations limit.

I have been limited to 50 on my credit card (has no debit function) many times. At USA Gas here in SoCal, there is a little sticker on each pump that says something like (I can't remember the exact numbers):

VISA = $50
AMEX = $75
Someone = $100
And then some type of gas-only card (I forget the name) $150

Anybody else seen these? I have only seen them at one gas station.

I have seen those too.

Your right at the prices, and limits.

Limits are due to the huge increase in credit card theft and how easy it is to steal one and then just use it at the gas pump!

Yesterday I saw an article with a picture where the price in San Francisco area at a Shell station is $4.09 for 87 octane. Then today when I was getting gas at a vallero station, there was a note on the pump that they will now be charging an extra 6 cents per gallon (not a transaction but per gallon) for users of credit cards. Reason given is " incresed cost for use of credit card transactions".

The company I work for sucks to work for in pay wise for the first several years. They take care of their managment though, so hopefully I can work my way up there in a few years. Otherwise

It's ok Dom....were all friends here.....you can tell us about your "gas" perks...no need to complain about gas and such to make you seem "normal"....we see through your charade
