I filled up my car today and gas was $3.579 a gallon. Is the $.009 a gallon really necessary? Why not just $3.57 a gallon, does anyone know why they tack on that little extra? I've never noticed/cared before, now it's just pissin me off.......
I hate to say it but i may be selling the diesel or getting bio maker
How far do you have to tow to the lake? That was my major thing with getting a diesel. My 5.3 Avalanche was only getting 8 mpg and it's 55 miles each way to the lake. Hoping to get 10~11 in the diesel? Guess it won't save me any money though...
The best I ever got with our 2007 duramax was 16.5. Most of the time we are around 13-14.

depends on what lake I go to. My diesel here in cali gets like 18 towing, since you can only go 55 mph.
got around 12-14 when I crank it up to 70

I wouldn't be suprised if he does. Around my neck of the woods in Cali if they catch you towing a boat over 55-60 you WILL get a ticket, no questions or arguments allowed! I'm known to push the limit a bit but towing i average 60 and that's it. The CHP is not very lienent here.

I get a 2mpg increase by dropping from 70 to 65, 3mpg from 75 to 70. I average 10-12 towing on highway.

agreed. I go about 60, but i drive on the 5 all the time for work and see trucks and trailers passing me and about 10-20 miles down the road I always see them pulled over. Not worth it to me.
On the way out to the river on the 15 or 40 I stay around 68-72MPH

yeah but that highway is also the same highways where I got passed by everyone doing 85, so I set my cruise at 102 and was still not the fastest but was for sure going about average.
The 5 is a bit different, the CHP's are a lot more prevelant there then on say the 40.

Now that I think about it I don't drive as fast on the 5 going out to lake nas the flow of traffic just wont allow you to do so.
