I have had quite a few different boats with all types of drive systems and was a little confused with an outboard on a Boston Whaler I am looking at. The water pick-up gills on the bottom of the lower unit, four on each side, the top two intake holes had what appeared to be 3m 5200 in them. Basically the top two water intake holes were effectively plugged
I have no idea why this would be needed. The engine is a late nineties 115 johnson. Everything else looks to be in good shape but this perplexed me. I am going to try to stop and get a photo to post on the classic Boston Whaler and Evinrude/Johnson forums.
