    Metallica

Ok here is some new from my favorite band.......

    LATEST METALLICA NEWS
    2/9/2007
    [ back ]

Greetings from not so sunny Northern California. We know that things have been pretty quiet here in web-land, so we thought we'd throw some **** your way... here goes...

We are finishing up the last couple weeks of pre-production on the album and... really... seriously...(drumroll)... we're going to start recording on March 12th. We're pretty fuckin' psyched about it and pretty fuckin' psyched to be sharing this experience with Rick.

But wait... there's more. We kinda sorta figured that by the time June rolled around, we would be ready for a break from recording (escape??) and since we had so much fun in Europe last summer, we thought "why not go back for some more fun and games?" We're planning to share the summer love with our friends in some different countries we didn't get to last year.. okay, **** it, maybe one or two repeats. We haven't quite worked out all the details yet, but we thought that for once we really would be the first site to break a piece of Metallica news.

So keep your eyes open for more details in the next few.. the plan right now is to head out in late June and hang out for a couple/three weeks. We might even do a certain festival that we've played 19 times in July that starts with a "W," maybe hit a certain band member's home turf... blah, blah, blah.

    It's a start . . . .

I am really looking forward to them working with Rick Ruben on this album.

Just noticed all of the bad words don't get ***** out. Sorry if that sort of stuff offends you. I am in the Bobby Knight camp of use of explicit words.

I stopped paying attention somewhere around the S & M album and when Jason Newstead left. They sort of evolved away from the Metallica I enjoyed.

I am with you about the Load, Reload and St. Anger album. After the Black Album they have not been as good, but I think with Rick Ruben working on this album it should be good.

I got to thinking about this Coach, I'm not so sure that Metallica changed as much as I got tired of them. I watched their documentary, and I think that changed my whole perception of them. Either way, I am listening to the Black Album right now, simply great. Everyone's favorite for a reason. I need to get my hands on some of their very early stuff though.

*Edit: Pay no attention to me, I was thinking there was an album before "kill em all"

black album your favorite....you must be intaking your call name to excess.
must go older....master of puppets.... twisting your mind and smashing dreams.....master master master. had to be my favorite...big ups to garage days e.p. and and justice for all. dont get me wrong black is the best of any of the more recent albums.

Nothing Wrong with Master of puppets. It just seems that the Black Album is the one everyone says is their best. Casual listeners and hardcore fans.

First concert I ever went to was the Master of Puppets tour!!!!

After that I saw the And Justice for all show three times

                  and the black album twice.

ST anger wasnt all that bad, it took me three of four time of non stop listing to get into it.

Gargage days still has to be one of my favorites!!

Masters album was the top dog for me. Musically and Lryicaly it is deep. That was my first Metallica show the Masters tour with Ozzy in LB. Then Justice, Monster of Rock 88 and Black and one of my favorites was a show they did here in So Cal at Cal St. Domiquez Hills in 94. Suiciadal Tendencies open up for them and they they Played after, all general admition no seats. It was a crazy mosh pit where I was. There were about 6 guys from the UCLA football team in the mix and it was rough. They had cleats on with football shorts and were big as hell. That was the last time I saw Metallica in concert. I think I need to get to a show this time around.

BTW: Coach, since you mentioned Ozzy. Ozzfest is free this year.

WTF- That is crazy! Only Ozzy can try to pull something off like this. He must be doing some amazing marketing with this to get some type of major sponsership to pay the bands.
