Well my oldest, 5 year old girl, just started riding on her 2 wheeler without training wheels!!! I took 3 weeks with minimal time. I bought her a bike by Trek called the Float. It is a new deal. You remove the cranks and they learn to push the bike around like Fred Flinstone and balance on their own. After a few hours they can coast then you put the cranks and pedals back on and they are riding. No crashing hard, no crying, and whammo they are riding!!! I am beyond a believer in this system. My wife just got home from Miami after being gone for a week and the oldest is riding a 2 wheeler. The wife and I are or really were avid bikers (mountain and road) for years before kids. We use to race mountain all summer and fall and road we would just do the long rides (65-100 miles) as training. If you have a little one pay the extra money and buy this bike you will not regret it!!

Ya we lived on a hill and the the only flat area was on a street with moderate traffic so we used the sidewalk. That sidewalk was right against a wall with some trees to the side. I slammed off of that wall many times. My mom asked if I still rembered it (hell yes it hurt everytime I crashed into it)Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

The entire crank arms will come off so the child sits on the seat and used their legs to push themselves around learning to control the bike and balance on the bike. Funny thing the boy next door was still on his training wheels and once he saw my daughter without them he wanted his off and now he is riding without them as well (my guess he could have learned about 8-12 months ago) but just needed some motivation.Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

I picked it up at Jax's here in Yorba Linda. They have 5 shops around in So Cal.
Nice guys at that store. I almost bought a new Trek FS Mountain Bike from them two months ago. Got a smokin' deal on a '06 Stumpjumper Expert from Buena Park Bicycles. At the time, I wasn't really lookin at kids bikes, but I'd go back there in a heart beat. Thanks
