Quiet this morning isn't it. My wife and M-in-L are in the kitchen cooking, rest of her family is coming over today so i'm staying out of the way I will definitely be in 'the sauce' here shortly.

wow, I leave you guys alone, and you throw up 3 pages of stuff.

I had some Hess Select Syrah last night with dinner...Nice red wine, but it needed a least 30 minutes of air to mellow a bit.

Anyone here a Winophile? I'd like to get some more recomendations on some good wines.

Nice choice...if you ever want to splurge a bit or impress someone, try a 2002 Col Solare...it's probably the best red I've ever had. My wife and I both love wine, especially reds. Of course, you can't go wrong with the Silver Oak Cab, but it's kinda pricey, too. For every day, try the Chateau St. Michelle Cab, Clos de Bois Pinot Noir.

If you want be a bit bolder, try some Texas wine. The Becker Claret, Grape Creek Cab, Sister Creek Cab, Travis Peak Duo Amis (white) or Super Texan.

We're spoiled with a couple of liquor stores in Austin that have an outstanding wine selection (Grapevine Market and Houston-based Specs).

I'm looking forward to Christmas dinner so I can open one of my Col Solare bottles.

What type do you like...Pinot's....Cabs....Chardonnay's....Syrah's. ...hard to recomend anything unless we have a general direction to go....cause dude there are SOOO many wines out there.

We personally line Pinot Noir's and the best in the world come from the Willamette Valley of Oregon.....Van Duzer, Christom, Willamette Valley Vineyards all put out an epic Estate Reserve....there are some good california Pinot's too, but who can afford the have friends over and polish through 5 bottles of $50 wine....not muwah...so our table wine in Vina Alarba $6.99 and Woop Woop shiraz which I get for about 8 bucks case price....so that's what we are keeping in the cellar right now and we will change our table wine every 4-6 months. Keep the good stuff for a special time

BTW...I am by no means a winophile....don't really care about the tannens/legs/bouquet/acetic...just as long as it tastes good
