Drink of choice

Dog, I knew you had something going for you Rita's I'll share my recipe.

2 parts Tequila (White or Anejo, depending on the quality of the rita you want)

1 part Cointreau
1 part Grand Marnier (honestly I leave this out a lot of the times..I never seem to have it around the house)
.5 part Triple Sec (just a splash for a standard shaker) Optional, this will make the Rita have a sweet finish

4 parts Sours mix (a good one, that contains a foaming agent...this is really important for the Mouth feel of the margarita)

Mix all of this in a Shaker...like James bond...With some really good clear Ice.

This is for an "on the Rocks Rita"

If you want frozen, try this. Use the same recipe, but instead of a shaker, put all that in the blender with the following Ice mixture.

1 part Vodka (try to use a nice vodka that doesn't have much taste/ impurites), and 2 parts Water placed in a large container and frozen over night, longer if you can. This will add a nice "punch" to your Ritas....

Blend in the blender in quick pulses (the ice will melt quickly, so if you have the rest of the ingredients cold already, it will help)

BEWARE---this is extremely alcohol intense....the vodka adds more than you will expect (and especially more than women expect)


I use that vodka Ice mix (we've taken to calling it Vice) for adult punches as well.

Razzman that bar is sick....omg what I would do to have something like that.

It's very similar to Applebee's Perfect Margarita as well. I developed it after many years of arduous study!

I think the key is the Sweet & Sours mix having the foaming agent, it makes it just that much better.

PS, i don't salt or sugar the rim of my glasses.

For me its beer....darker the better.

Funny you ask. I shake the bottle, if it foams, you're good!

I use a powdered mix though, Rose's I believe.

I also like Mr & Mr's T's liquid.

I have made my own before, but that is kind of a pain in the rear.

if you ever need to clean up your your sinuses let me know. I have a nice shot called a Vapor rub that is fun to make, show off, kind of hard to take, but will for sure clear your sinuses up.
