I was out in two different raft-ups Saturday and Sunday... The best sounding stereos to my ears those two days were the ones turned off..
I can twist up to insane levels in the boat, but do not throw anything sound-wise out back... I had started to work on a design to have speakers mounted on light-poles and have the amps hooked up to some dedicated light pole sockets for rear firing audio, but I am getting old, and all of the people with mega loud back-firing systems that force you to have to either drown them out or put up with whatever CRAP they are playing has me thinking I should not mess with it.
That or I need to go ludicrous, and install way too many speakers on way too much power and just drown EVERYONE out....
One band I really like is Rascall Flatts. Was watching "Cars" with my kids and "Life is a Highway" really struck me. I found some more of their music and there are several songs that flat out rock.
RF rocks!
It's not an optical illusion.
It just looks like one.....
The biggest PITA is the lack of easy installation. I do not have a tower on my boat, and will not be putting one on. As a result the prospect of providing entertainment while floating off of the transom is a bit more challenging...

For SWMBO's b-day in March this year, I got her tix for us to see 4 shows this Summer. Last night was the first and we end with RF in August. Very excited to see them to end the concert season.
I am also trying to throw in a Rush show and she also wants to see Tom Petty. She hasn't seen Les Mis so I will surprise her with the tix i got just as she surprised me with the Stomp show.
Still, I have started a few times... It would be fun to have a solid hull, with a reliable powerplant, yet looking like a total POS that you could just have fun with... Dairy cow exterior paint scheme, with horns... Folding chairs, wood tower, redneck wind chimes, etc...
That type of vessel would be a blast to doll up witha 4x4 pressure treated tower. Better yet, get mad with the skillz and go for something that is super sexy and functional in a redneck sort of way...
