Here is the sailboat in the shop.
I went to church Sunday morning, then built the two cradles shown under the boat. Then I hung a chain hoist, (been meaning to do it for two years) so I could lift the boat. After that I got the boat off of the trailer, (3500 lbs) and onto the cradles, and got about two-thirds of the bottom sanded in preparation for the $160.00 per gallon new bottom paint job.
I got a lot done yesterday. I am quite sore as a result.
Anyway, here are two pictures, both showing the boat on the cradles, but one with the old botton paint and all the nastiness that goes with leaving a boat in the water, and the other after about an hour of sanding and scrapingIt's not an optical illusion.
It just looks like one.....

By the way, that pic with the blue paint showing is AFTER having pulled the boat out of the water, and IMMEDIATELY heading to the car wash for a hi-pressure spraying. About $10.00 woth of quarters and a spare change of clothes were necessary to get all of the furry growth that had accumulated off of the bottom. I wish I had taken a pic; it would probably prevent many people from leaving their boats in the water for extended periods.
I was green when I was done.... I also smelled like bad sushi...It's not an optical illusion.
