Just look out, you're getting such a good deal on the rz2 they may try and make it up on the trade in value of your 24ve.
Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

Exactly why I am concerned. I am ready to take a 7K-10K hit but nothing more.

          22 to 25 feet.

I want a Catalina... something trailerable, with an outboard motor for ease of maintnance, and lack of need for winterizing...

            About $50 per month cheaper.

The GF wants a smaller boat. She thinks the 24Ve is too big and doesn't like driving it. Well, if she doesn't drive, I can't board because the other people on the boat are not old enough to drive.

            I hear ya.

Just got off the phone with the dealer. We are looking at a 10K hit.

That would be a nice size boat.

I really want a larger one for some reason. I guess it is Freudian; a catalina 27 would be great, but I do not want to have to worry about inboards, heavy hauling, mast raising... All of the larger concerns one has with a larger boat. At 25 feet, an individual can still raise a mast if the individual is careful.

Being in control of a boat by yourself sounds like it an issue that always plays it's hand in the size of boat. Hence why we are trying to purchase a smaller boat for the GF.

Nope, but she only knows it's smaller. Personally, I know it manuvers a little bit better so it's okay but again, yes, I am "between a rock and a hard place"

Well if she never fells comfortable you will never hear the end of it...... and it's not like the rz2 is a chity boat

What if, you took the hit on the 24ve got the rz2 then she complains she misses all the room you had on the 24ve

                              THAT WOULD SUCK!

I hope everything works out for you.

Wait a minute. Can I ask something?

Do you seriously think 2' - 3' will make a difference to her comfort with the size of the boat?

I do not ask to shake things up or irritate you or her, but I cannot imagine that she will drive a 21 or 22 if she will not drive a 24...
