I hate iTunes too.. I use MEdia Player, and occasionally the Zune software, but have found that if I rip with MP, it populates the library for either software, but if I use aune to rip, I have to drag and drop to get MP to recognize it.
ITunes is worse in my opinion. It has all thos problems, and more. A friend of mine operates a dance studio and works a lot with edited songs. She shortens them a lot of the time to make the music work with the dance routine. iTunes FLIPS OUT if you do not follow a very precise set of steps for savig the copy of the song which is edited for length. IT also will ook at lengths, and often times rename the file, thinking the edited version is a different song, with similar run time...
Exactly, I have plenty of "missing" songs which really ticks me off. I just use itunes to play whats on it. Otherwise I use limewire and my psp which is click and drag but it is so much simpler and user friendly!!
Sorry Im not much help Chp, but Itunes isnt my thing.

I HATE!!!!!!! ITUNES.... Mainly because of that reason and it wants to do things its way while I want it to do things my way...
We hate Itunes also, but you have no choice with an Ipod Next MP3 will be a MS based and use Media Player.
We already had Itunes crash once due t a bad update, and it wiped out the Ipod when we plugged it up So, wife had to rebuild the library all over

Yeah im helping you come out of the spell that Ipods are the best music playing device known to man.
But I think there are other programs compatible with an Ipod. *I THINK* Rhapsody is but im not sure. I have never used of it just heard of it. Maybe it is a little more user friendly.

We got our son a Zun last year for xmas just because of Itunes.

I can plug any device into my PC EXCEPT for an iPod, and if it is a zip drive, or a media player of any brand, except Apple, it will recognize it, let you name it and sync to it.
MP11 rocks...
It's not an optical illusion.
It just looks like one.....
I'm not anti iTunes. I just prefer the ease of other devices and applications.
You can install MP3's from other sources onto the iPod that you have. However, I would make sure that you have a backup copy of the MP3 before you provide the MP3 file to the iPod.
And that is one huge reason why I say away from Apple. Might be because I don't know a lot about them but again, there are known issues.
Chp, you might want to PM Ragboy to see what can be done.
That's a thought, thanks
