Based on that, my only suspicion has been that the charger didn't like trying to charge a single bank of six batteries with two charging circuits, but I just thought of something....

If they are really parallel, all six would be at a same charge, either the full charge you found on one set of three or a full depleted charge like on the other three. Since I recall reading that the charger has three positive circuits, and only one negative ground lead, I just now will realize and suggest that you may have a bad connection on the ground wiring side of the three that show the low charge.

Does that make sense to you?

You just made a very valid point. My drawing is wrong. I don't have a negative going to anything on the one set of banks. It's just relying on the negative from the batteries. That would be a problem eh? I should run the negative from that bank to the boat negative as well. Right now the single battery is going there as well as the one bank. But I don't think the second bank is. That would be a serious problem eh?

ie this pic. I think is actually the correct version. the charger may in fact be able to charge both banks ( the manual said nothing) I just don't have that one bank hooked up to a good negative. This is a problem right?

So redraw what you really have, with the negative not going to one set...

ok, so tonight after I get done mowing I'll run the one bank back to where ever it goes on the engine and see if this helps things, man I hope this is the case, otherwise it's 6volt time.

wow who said this thread is worthless?

Another question for you. This charger has 3 temps to charge batteries too, the hot it will only charge it to like 12, the med it's 12.5-13 and the cold is 13.5 IT says to charge to the temp of the battery, and the hot is above 80. So basically it won't charge all the way when they are hot, this is bad for me, but is it really an issue u think?

AS I recall, the charge temp is more a function of the batteries; I have to go re-read... AFTER I find the instruction link again...

Now understand, I still THINK you will have a problem tying two charge circuits in parallel, as I have them drawn in my first pic. You have two banks of batteries in my opinion, one of 6 batteries, and one of one.

You can either use two circuits to charge two banks, as I have shared previously, or bust the six batteris into two sets of three by removing a POSITIVE wire between the two threes for charging purposes, then recombine to six for operation. This would allow one charge circuit to charge the single batt bank, the second to charge a group of three, and the third to charge the other group of three.

yup I like what we have going. I'll fix it and then charge it. I'll worry about making it charge faster after I start using it more

the extra link you have drawn in will be easier to add then going to my ground so I'll add that. Finally maybe this will work better. only 3 batteries powering this monster, no wonder it was weak, and then with the other 3 not even on. now it better last
