      Sweet!

Have you done any calculations to try to determine charge rate, and the amount of time it would take to get the batts from dead to full charge?

Basically, I would rough guess in this manner:

Average current draw for system x total run time = depletion

Charge current delivered x charge time needs to at least equal depletion

There is probably a "heat" factor of 1.2 to 1.5 that shoudl be considered for the charge time... Just a wild @$$ guess...

No I have not done any calculations yet, sp and I did some rough and we figure we have about 2-3 hours at full volume till complete dead charge, however the day I listen to it that long at full, I won't be able to hear myself think

              My only reasoning is this...

Say you are pulling 500 amps average, and run for three hours. That is 1500 amps removed that have to be replaced.

If you had a 10A charger, it would take 150 hours, assuming no loss just to replace the juice used...

              6.25 days....

              Get it?

I see, Well I have a 40 amp, and I run the engine for 10 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour.

and I don't go out that much. but I would like to run some calcs sometime.

Perhaps get my amp specs and you can help me.

                    no problem, any time....

You could just add up the fuse values for every amplifer.

The system probably operates at an average of 50% to 75% of the summed fuse value..

That or get a clamp ammeter and measure the current running through your power wiring...

Either way, we are just looking at trying to determine a resonable number for average current draw... It will never be a constant as the load is dynamic...

From that and the 40A that your charger can deliver we can determine a reasonable multiplier for charge time, based on run time.

well only my zapco is fused, none of the precisions are.

Where can I get a clamp ammeter, that looks like a cool toy, I bet anhaney has one I'll ask.

the zapco is 90 amp fused.

I have the precision on 100 amps and the small one's on 40 so total now is 100+100+40+40+90+10 for the EQ and another 10 for the radio.

Based on that, my guess is that on average you are pulling 200-250 amps...

Yeah, see if anhaney has one... I would be curious to know if my s.w.a.g. is close...
